Warning Fraudulent Telephone Calls

It has come to the notice of Embassy of India, Rome through complaints received from Indian nationals that fraudulent phone calls are being received purportedly from +39064884642 to 45, which is Embassy's phone number. The caller threatens the Indians living in Italy with deportation/legal problems unless a certain amount is transferred to the account details provided by the caller.

We are in touch with the relevant Italian authorities on the issue.

Please be advised that the Indian Embassy or our Consulate in Milan, does not solicit such calls. Do not fall prey to this scam.

If you have received such a threat, do not give any money. Please inform the Embassy on following numbers +39 3311928713 and +39 064884642 to 45.

The details can also be sent to following e-mail addresses  cons.rome@mea.gov.in. It would be appreciated if the information could be provided in the format placed at link below.
