Guidelines for International Participants - Global Cyber Challenge

 

I.     Brief on Global Cyber Challenge

Global Cyber Challenge is an important part of Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS), 2017 being inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and being attended by nearly 120 countries. The Grand Finale will be organized at GCCS 2017, New Delhi on 20 & 21 November 2017. Global Cyber Challenge comprises of two contests namely Capture the Flag Event and Peace-a-thon. The contest is open to participants from India and abroad. The participation can take place in either or both the contests.

II. Contest 1: Capture the Flag 

(i.e. a competition on finding the system vulnerabilities)

1.     All the interested individuals and teams are expected to complete their registrations at www.mygov.in  and GCCS2017 websites so that they can participate in Prelim Round and their travel related documentation (in the event of being a winner in the Prelims) can be initiated well in time.

2.     The contest is divided into two rounds namely Prelims Round the and Grand Finale Round.

 

3.     Prelims Round

 

a.     Date and Time:

·        14 Nov 2017 - 15 Nov 2017

·        Timeslots on each day: 7 Hours - 15 Hours IST and 15:30 Hours – 23:30 Hours IST

 

b.     Mode of Participation:

Online.

 

All the participants/ teams will be provided with target IP/ URL with other details where they must find vulnerabilities and flags. All the submitted vulnerabilities and flags will be scored according to their weightage.

 

c.     Declaration of Result:

16 Nov 2017 13:00 hours IST

 

4.     Top 5 International Teams will be selected and they will be invited and sponsored to participate in the Grand Finale Round to be held on 20 & 21 November 2017 in New Delhi, India.  The Grand Finale will also have 10 winning teams from India.

III.         Contest 2: Peace-a-thon

 

(i.e. a competition on software development on 13 global problem statements)

1.     All the interested individuals and teams are expected to complete their registrations as given in Point II (1) above.

2.     The contest is divided into two rounds namely Prelims Round and Grand Finale Round.

 

3.    Prelims Round

 

a.     Prelims Round will be conducted and hosted by International Institute latest by 15 November 2017 at 23:59 Hours IST.

b.     Prelim Round will have a 34 Hour continuous competition on software development on 13 global problem statements outlined at https://innovate.mygov.in/cyber-challenge/ .

c.      Each International Institute will forward the name of their top 5 teams to us by 16 Nov 2017.

 

4.     Top 5 International Teams will be selected and they will be invited and sponsored to participate in the Grand Finale Round to be held on 20 & 21 November 2017 in New Delhi, India.  The Grand Finale will also have 10 winning teams from India.
