‘35th Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2022’ to be held from 4th to 20th February, 2022

Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism in collaboration with Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture and External Affairs, India is scheduled to organize International Crafts fair titled ‘35th Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2022’ to be held from 4th to 20th February, 2022.

The Surajkund Mela is unique as it showcases the richness and diversity of the handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of India and one of the largest crafts fair in the world. It is expected that around 20 countries & all the states of India would be participating in the International Crafts fair. Surajkund International Crafts Mela offers a wonderful range of textiles, paintings, wood stock, ivory work, pottery, terracotta, stonework, lacquerware, cane and grass products.

Salient features the Surajkund Mela is to:-

  • Promote handicrafts, handlooms with the aid of craftsmen invited from all over the country.

  • Identify languishing and lesser known crafts and to introduce them to their patrons.

  • Display crafts and loom techniques by organising demonstration sections in the Mela grounds.

  • Undertake the promotion of export of handlooms and handicrafts.

  • Set up an environment in which rural crafts traditions could be displayed and to project the traditional rural ambiance of a typical village near Delhi for travelers who may not have the time or means to visit an Indian village.
